Status

Unfortunately, due to a lack of manpower and other resources, the game-days and the annual convention organised by Draconis are being put on indefinite hiatus.  Our website, forums, and Facebook page will remain active, and you will be kept informed of further developments as they arise.  Thanks for your support these past four years.

Mission

Draconis is a game club whose objective is to promote hobby gaming in and around the Montreal area.  We organize a monthly game-day where people can meet and play games together in a casual environment.  We also organize an annual game convention in the autumn.  We hope to organize other events in the future; these will be announced as they are confirmed.

No "membership" is required to benefit from what the club offers; anyone can attend the events that we organize, although those will often carry an entrance fee.  That said, we invite you to register on this website and on our forums so that you can receive our updates and participate in discussions.  Once the club is more established, we may offer an annual club membership that gets you free access to events.  If and when this option becomes available, there will be an announcement.

History

The organization was first created in early 2006.  For the first few years, our only major activity was to organize an annual game convention in the autumn.  In 2006 and 2007, this convention was called RoyalCon.  Since 2008, the convention has been called Draconis.  In 2010, we added monthly game-days to our activities and adopted The Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation (MCHF) as our official charity.
